How To Photograph A Conference
Posted 16 November 2008
on:While there are a good number of photographers out there who will offer advise on how to shoot a wedding or the best way to do portraiture or expert advise on landscape photography, I’ve not seen this one before–How to photograph a conference. I’ve been to conferences and wanted to photograph some but I seem to run into a host of issues like the details of lighting and setting up a tripod where I won’t be in somebody’s way to permission to photograph those on stage.
In this article from dPS you’ll learn about these 10 things:
- Bring extra batteries, memory cards, your cables, and chargers
- Get out of auto mode
- Be unobtrusive. Casual shots are better
- Pay attention to the background
- Try not to use the flash
- Pay attention to the lighting
- Set the white balance
- More is better
- Zoom less, walk more
- Have fun
If you think about it conferences are a little like family reunions. If you’re planning an upcoming holiday with family and friends indoors, many (if not all) of these tips could apply.
